Something shocking appeared in my Google Alert for Sacramento SEO. One of my competitors created a LinkedIn entry that read: Internet Marketing Softwares SEO Softwares – Click Image To Visit Site The Internet Marketing And SEO Softwares We Develop Are Designed For… I read this a few times and found the more I read it, the more confusing it became. This brings me to today’s topic…your website guy must be able to write.

Your website guy will create content that promotes you, your products and your services. It can lure more customers or it can push them away. You need to make sure any content that promotes you follows these rules:

  1. The content must make sense. Your content will show that you are worthy of a prospect’s business and can turn their pain point into a solution. You are a solution provider.
  2. The content must show that you care. Correct grammar, spelling and punctuation show that you are worthy of a prospect’s business. Your messages show that you care about your work and therefore care about the work you would perform for your clients. No prospect will ask you if you do your own awful marketing…they will just go elsewhere.
  3. The content must communicate clearly. I read the Internet Marketing Softwares SEO Softwares – Click Image To Visit Site The Internet Marketing And SEO Softwares We Develop Are Designed For… five times and still cannot understand what it means. When did we start putting an “s” after software to make it plural? I can see “software applications” and “products” with the “s” to indicate plural, but this is nonsense.

I see many website companies out there are offering content marketing services and promoting their low prices. Perhaps they view their service like a commodity and therefore publish prices like a fast food restaurant publishes theirs. I urge you to stay away from the cheap content producers. They represent you. Their ability to communicate, attention to detail and familiarity with our language can determine if you earn more customers or turn away potential business. We’re not living in 2005 anymore. You have to be good at what you do and your website has to be great. Do not go for cheap vendors to create your content. You may end up with content and website messages that embarrass your company.
